The Path

A Christian Men's Group in Monroe, Louisiana

You came home from the retreat three months ago. The fire was real — a first honest confession, a sense of God you couldn't argue your way out of. Then ordinary life closed back over it: the same job, the same patterns, the same weight. The fire's still there. You just don't quite know what to do with it.

Or maybe there was no retreat at all — just a steady, low sense that your life with God is meant to go further than it has. Either way, you're who this is for. The Path is six weeks with a small group of men who know exactly what you mean, and a clear way forward from here.

The Path, a Christian men's group at Banner Institute in Monroe, Louisiana

The mountaintop was never the problem.
The absence of a path down from it was.

This isn't therapy, and it isn't a support group. It's about courage, not shame. Men moving forward together, honest about what they carry, but always pointed at the road ahead.

What The Path is

Six men. Six consecutive weekly evenings in the Monroe area.

Team-taught by the Banner coaching team.

One clear arc: from who you are now to how you go forward.

1

Who am I now?

Identity in Christ, and the trust that makes a real group possible.

2

What am I carrying?

An honest inventory of what you brought home — and what needs continued attention.

3

How do I live differently?

Sacred rhythms, prayer, and the practical shape of daily discipleship.

4

What has God made me to be?

Gifts, calling, and the beginnings of vocational clarity.

5

Writing your story

Each man puts his testimony into words — guided, and supported.

6

How do I go forward?

Testimonies shared, accountability established, a clear next step named.

Who it's for — and who it isn't

This is for you if…

You've got momentum and no clear path down from the mountaintop. Retreat alumni, yes — but also any man who senses there's more and is ready to do honest work in the company of other men.

Not yet, if…

You're in real crisis right now — a marriage collapsing, an addiction winning, the floor falling out. A group isn't where you start. Our counseling team is, and we'll tell you that plainly and point you there.

How to join

The cohort is limited to six men, and the next step is a free conversation — this is the application.

1

The conversation

A free 20-minute conversation with our Care Coordinator about where you are, what you're carrying, and whether this cohort is your right next step.

2

Your place

If it's a fit, your spot in the cohort is confirmed — with the start date, the location, and what to expect on week one.

3

Week one

The group gathers. Six weeks, the same men, all the way through — and a clear path forward by the end.

No obligation follows the conversation. If The Path isn't the right fit, we'll work with you to find what is.

A word about cost

Banner charges real prices for real work — a cohort that is prepared, structured, and led with care. Rates are discussed openly when you speak with our Care Coordinator, who can speak specifically to what you're considering.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to have been on a retreat to join?

No. Many of the men who join are coming off a retreat or a conference, and The Path speaks directly to that re-entry. But it's just as much for the man who's never had a single defining moment and simply senses there's more to his life with God. If you're ready to do honest work in the company of other men, you belong here.

Is The Path only for men?

Yes — The Path is a men's cohort. Banner's one-on-one formation coaching and spiritual direction are open to anyone now, and you can read about both on our Spiritual Formation track. A conversation with our Care Coordinator will point you to the right starting point.

What if I'm dealing with something serious right now?

If you're in crisis — a marriage in collapse, an addiction winning, the floor falling out — a group is not where to begin. Our licensed counseling team is, and we'll tell you that plainly and point you there. The Path is for men steady enough to move forward, not men who need rescue first. When the ground is firm again, the group will still be here.

Do I have to be a Christian to join?

Most men who come are already walking with Christ, and the content is unapologetically Christian. You don't have to have it all figured out — doubt and hard questions are welcome — but you should know going in that this is formation rooted in Christian conviction, not a generic men's group. We've found that honesty about that serves men better than vagueness does.

How much does it cost?

Rates are discussed openly when you speak with our Care Coordinator. Banner charges real prices for real work; we'd rather talk it through with you than post a single number that won't fit every situation.

Six weeks. One room. A clear way forward.
