What is the Birkman Method?
The Birkman Method is a psychometric assessment with seven decades of use in leadership and personal development. From a single questionnaire, it measures three things at once: what motivates you, how you behave, and where your interests naturally pull you. It also surfaces what you need from the people around you, and how your behavior shifts when those needs go unmet and stress sets in.
For a leader, that produces something more useful than a personality label. It's a working picture of why you operate the way you do, where your blind spots are, and how to lead people who are wired differently than you.
Some people know exactly what they want to work on. Others just know something feels off. Either way, the Birkman gives you a defined, self-contained place to begin:
Defined engagement
The Assessment & Debrief
When the conversation calls for it, a certified practitioner can draw on additional focused reports — on interpersonal stress, working relationships, and decision-making — to go deeper where it matters.
Who it's for
How you lead, how you work on a team, how you partner at home, how you carry yourself day to day — it's all the same wiring. The Birkman helps you see it clearly.
Individuals
A clear read on how you're wired — your strengths, your blind spots, and what you do best.
Teams
How a leadership team actually works together — surfaced, so you can build on it.
Couples
Understanding how each of you is wired — used alongside Banner's marital and pre-marital counseling, not in place of it.
Students
Career and direction guidance, grounded in a student's natural strengths and interests.
Deacon James
Birkman Certified Professional
Your assessment and debrief are administered by Deacon James, Banner's certified Birkman practitioner. He brings a corporate leadership background to the conversation, so the debrief stays practical — focused on how your results apply to the work you're actually doing and the people you're actually leading.

The assessment and debrief are complete on their own. You'll walk away with real insight whether or not you ever book another session — there's no obligation, and no pressure to continue.
That said, many people find the debrief opens up questions worth staying with. When it does, your results become a working map for ongoing executive coaching — a natural next step, entirely your call.

No obligation follows the conversation. If the Birkman isn't the right tool for you, we'll say so directly.
A word about cost
The Birkman engagement is a defined package, priced separately from ongoing coaching. Rather than post a number that won't fit every situation, we talk it through openly when you schedule a conversation with our Care Coordinator, who can tell you exactly what's involved and what it costs.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Birkman Method?
The Birkman is a validated psychometric assessment used in leadership development for decades. From one questionnaire, it measures what motivates you, how you behave, and what interests you — plus what you need from others and how you respond under stress. At Banner it's paired with a guided debrief that turns the results into practical insight for how you lead.
Can I do the assessment and debrief remotely, outside Monroe?
Yes. The questionnaire is online, and debriefs are available by video anywhere in Louisiana — from Shreveport to Alexandria to Baton Rouge — as well as in person in the Monroe area. Distance is no barrier to working with a certified practitioner.
How many debrief sessions are there?
One focused session in most cases, with a second follow-up when the results warrant a deeper look. You receive your Birkman Signature Report to keep either way.
Do I have to continue into coaching afterward?
No. The assessment and debrief are a complete engagement on their own, with no obligation to continue. Many people do go on into executive coaching, where the results become a working map — but that's always your decision, never a requirement.
Can the Birkman support ongoing personal and professional growth?
Yes. Beyond your Signature Report, the Birkman includes a wide range of more focused reports a certified practitioner can bring in as they become useful — offering practical guidance on things like handling pressure, strengthening working relationships, and making clearer decisions. Used well, they become tools you return to for growth long after the first debrief, at work and at home.
How much does the Birkman assessment cost?
The Birkman is a defined package, priced separately from ongoing coaching. We discuss cost openly when you schedule a conversation with our Care Coordinator rather than posting a single number that won't fit every situation.
One assessment. A clearer starting point.
